My Graduation Video
I am an assistant professor of accounting at the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. I graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky in May 2021. Before starting the Ph.D. program at the University of Kentucky, I had served as a research assistant at the City University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Baptist University for two years. I hold a Ph.D. in Accounting from Xiamen University, a MA in Accounting from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, and a BA in Accounting from Shandong Agricultural University in China.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
My primary research interests center on textual analysis of corporate disclosures. More broadly,
I have
a strong interest in applying new information technologies, such as machine learning and natural
language processing, to the text and language in corporate disclosure to study corporate disclosure
strategies, executive personality traits, and capital market reactions.
My earlier research mainly focuses on the determinants and capital market consequences of internal
control of Chinese public listed firms.
In addition, I am also interested in how the new information technologies affect
accounting.
